The crime branch of Delhi Police has arrested Rohit Shekhar's wife Apoorva Tiwari on charges of murder.
According to police, there could be two motives behind the murder - the first is the property angle and the other is Rohit's proximity to another woman.
The police will produce Apoorva in court and seek her custody for interrogation.
On Sunday, Rohit's wife, Apoorva, was termed the prime suspect. She was questioned multiple times since then.
TOI had reported that she had confessed to having gone to his room at night but gave conflicting answers to its purpose.
A senior officer said that the role of others has been ruled out.
