Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) today announced that Brian Bainum has joined its board of directors.
Bainum is a management consultant and also serves as a director at SunBridge Capital Management, LLC. He has a diverse background in enterprise digital transformations, management consulting, and real estate development and investing. Bainum also brings deep knowledge in both hotel franchise development and on-property operations.
"Brian's well-rounded hospitality experience, business acumen, and in-depth knowledge of Choice Hotels will be an asset to our board of directors," said Stewart Bainum, Jr., chairman of the Choice Hotels Board of Directors. "His background in many facets of the industry offers a unique perspective, which will help guide our vision for franchisee success and exceeding guest needs."
Prior to his current role, Bainum held positions at Deloitte Consulting, LLC, Infosys Consulting and Sunburst Hospitality Corporation. He currently serves on several boards, including Realty Investment Company, Sunburst Hospitality Corporation, Artis Senior Living, and Three Graces Foundation, which supports health and education projects in the developing world. Bainum earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, as well as a bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley.
Bainum was elected as a new board member at the company's annual shareholders meeting. He replaces Scott Renschler, who served on Choice Hotels' board of directors for 11 years. Bainum and Renschler are both members of the company's founding family and largest shareholder.
Bainum joins continuing directors Stewart W. Bainum, Jr., Patrick S. Pacious, Barbara T. Alexander, William L. Jews, Monte J. M. Koch, Liza K. Landsman, Ervin R. Shames, John P. Tague and Maureen M. Sullivan, who were each re-elected at the shareholders meeting.
