An elderly woman who was waiting to cast her vote collapsed and died at Mahakavi Kumaranasan Memorial LPS (booth number 54) in Kanjoor on Tuesday, the police said.

She has been identified as Thesiamma, 79, wife of Yohannan, Vadakkumbhagam Village, Aluva. She collapsed while proceeding to the voting compartment to cast her vote. She could not be saved despite being taken to the hospital, official sources said.
