Ujjain: Congress candidate from Ujjain-Alote constituency and ex-minister Babulal Malviya addressed his maiden first press conference at a private hotel here on Tuesday. However, his election manager Manohar Bairagi dominated the proceedings at the meet. It was informed that the party candidate will file his nomination paper on Wednesday during which a nomination rally followed by a public meeting will be held at Shahid Park in which at least three ministers will participate.
Malviya told the scribes that he would try to solve the long pending grievances of the people including clean drinking water to the denizens. On his health condition, he said that it is not up to a person to maintain health as anybody can suffer from any disease any time. Bairagi issued a four-page press note which repeated the promises made by All India Congress Committee has made in view of the Lok Sabha Elections-2019. It also mentioned the achievements of Kamal Nath government at length. For Ujjain, they promised to avail national level facilities at the Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Senior Congress leaders from the district remained conspicuous due to their absence in the press conference. Those who attended the meet included DCC presidents Mahesh Soni (urban), Kamal Patel (rural), MLAs Dilip Singh Gurjar, Ramlal Malviya and Mahesh Parmar and zila panchayat president Karan Kumaria among others.
