Two persons have been arrested for allegedly cheating at least 17 people by providing them fake UAE employment visa in 2017, the police said on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Sanjay Bhatia said that the accused in the case have been identified as Javed Ali (46), Manoj Kumar Sharma and Prince Yadav. While Javed and Manoj have been arrested, police teams are looking for Prince.
The police said that 17 FIRs were registered based on the complaints filed by Immigration officials wherein it was alleged that in April 2017, 17 passengers were deported from Dubai Airport (UAE) after they were found using fake UAE employment visa. “During investigation, all passengers were interrogated and they revealed that the visas were provided to them by agent Javed Ali from UP’s Kushinagar. They said he charged ₹1 lakh from each of them,” Mr. Bhatia said, adding that they also said that Ali had been advertising for the employment visa.
Mr. Bhatia said that the police were looking for him for the last two years but he was evading arrest. He was finally arrested from his village on April 17, he said.
During interrogation, he told the police about the involvement of Manoj and Prince in the crime. “Investigation revealed that Prince was the one who prepared and printed the fake visas,” Mr. Bhatia further said.
