Rashmika Mandanna, who is undoubtedly one among the most sought after new heroines in southern cinema, is most likely to team up with Akhil Akkineni for a yet-untitled Telugu project.

According to the industry grapevine, producer Bunny Vas has signed Rashmika for his next project with Akhil. Bommarillu Bhaskar will direct this project, due to be officially announced in a few weeks. Vas had previously worked with Rashmika in the runaway Telugu hit Geetha Govindam.

As per a report by Cinema Express, “It’s a strong female character that’s more like a second skin to her portrayal in Geetha Govindam. Rashmika was pleased with the way Bhaskar has conceived the character with a great sense of fun and depth, and has agreed to be on board.”

The makers are planning to rope in the rest of the cast and crew in the following weeks. Tipped to be a romantic comedy, this film marks Bhaskar’s return to direction after a hiatus of 3 years.

Meanwhile, Rashmika is said to also been approached for two more Telugu biggies. If the rumors are anything to go by, she has been approached for the next films of Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu.

She currently awaits the release of Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade, in which she plays a cricketer. In preparation for the role, she underwent cricket lessons for close to a month. Dear Comrade, which is gearing up for release on May 31, stars Deverakonda as a student leader. Rashmika also has a Tamil film with Karthi. This yet-untitled project will mark her Tamil debut.
