KURUKSHETRA: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Arjun Singh Chautala, accompanied by senior party leaders, filed his nomination papers from the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, the last day of filing nominations in Haryana.
He filed papers after a pooja peformed at the Shaktipeeth Bhadrakali Temple and paying obeisance at Gurdwara Patshahi Chevin in Kurukshetra.
Before filing nomination papers, a large rally showing INLD strength was organised at Theme Park in Kurukshetra, where party leader Abhay Singh Chautala, Haryana president Ashok Arora, former parliamentary secretary Rampal Majra and Arjun's elder brother Karan Chautala urged the public to vote for their party.
While addressing the gathering, Arjun said, “I have jumped into the poll fray from the land of Mahabharata to fight for justice to farmers, for employment to youths, and for Haryana’s share of river waters.”
Interestingly, addressing the gathering, Arjun also read out a letter written by his grandfather Om Prakash Chautala, which was an appeal to the electorate of Kurukshetra.
