CGC, Jhanjeri Holds Fashion Show with Novel Themes

Theme of “Army” won First Prize

Fashion Technology students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri organized fashion show “SHEARS & RUBANS” . Geeta Nagrath, Director, IIFT; was the Chief Guest and Munish Jindal, Founder & CEO, Hover Robotix, , Simrat Khaturia, Dietician and Mubarak Sandhu, were the Guests of Honour. Over 25 budding designers participated to showcase their designs and creativity. The fashion show proved the talent and passion of young minds. Senior students showcased their work with different variations and concepts in form of colors, designs and silhouettes. Highlight of the event was a kids special round which touched the hearts of the audience and created a colorful environment. During the entire function, the auditorium remained packed to its capacity. This fashion show was organized on different themes like Crocheting, Macramé, Wedding Biker, Sufi, Peacock, Cindrella (Kids Wear), Army, Reuse of Mumma Sarees, Garbage bags, Virsa Punjab, Angels & Devil, Leopard, Bulls, Fusion Wedding, Cascade, Formal Wear, Galaxy, Rainbow, Spot Light, Humming bird, Christian Wedding, Devil Child, Clouds and Marvels. The ‘Army’ theme proved most impressive & bagged first prize.

Students received prizes in different categories. In ‘Best Surface ornamentation technique’ first prize went to Sukhveer kaur , second prize to Parveen, in Innovative collection- first prize went to Muskan and Arsh , second to Meenaksi ,in Best Design-First prize went to Ramandeep & Harpreet while second to Rajdeep, in Best colour Forecast- first prize went to Aarti and Simranjeet while second prize went to Megha, in Most creative Design-first prize went to Kajal and Aastha and second prize went to Rajni, in Upcoming Designer-first prize went to Harsimran and Sumit and second prize went to Amandeep, in Most commercially viable product- first prize went to Sapna & second prize went to Gagandeep, in Best theme realization- first prize went to Sukhjinder, Simran & Navjot & Second to Ramandeep, in Best Silhouettes-first prize went to Disha, second to Tamanna, in Best Indo-western-first prize went to Anita and second to Gaganpreet. Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the students of Fashion Technology are highly creative and they always come up with new ideas.
