Khanna
A major fire broke out in a furniture and electrical showroom in Khanna. Though no causality was reported but the wooden and electrical items worth Crores were gutted in fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but short-circuit is believed to have triggered the fire.

According to the information, fire engulfed the store within seconds and occupants were taken out safely. At around 5 PM, building employee noticed a thick smoke emanating from the upper floor. He rushed to the main door but couldn’t go up, as the smoke spread fast. He called up the police and the fire services personnel. 14 fire-tenders were pressed into service to douse the raging fire.
DSP Khanna Deepak Rai said there was no loss of life in the fire incident. Pawan Sood, owner of the showroom said they had suffered massive loss. Yashpal Gomi, Fire Officer, Khanna, said they had called around 14 firefighting vehicles from Khanna, Mandi Gobindgarh, Ludhiana, Mohali and other stations to douse the flames. Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya and SDM Sandeep Singh, among others, visited the building and inquired with the officials on the fire accident.
