Spokane family credits social media for helping bring missing 8-year-old boy home

A spokane family is thanking strangers on the internet for answering their calls for help.their desperate search for an 8-year-old boy this weekend ended with his safe delivery back home.

He disappeared with his father-- anthony hall-- on friday.the boy's family worried for his safety after they say hall pointed a gun at the child's mother while he pulled him out of the house.

Kxly 4's ariana lake is digging deeper into the case-- and learned more from an exclusive interview with the child's family..

Ariana-- they tell you total strangers were trying to help them?

They say it was the power of social media that helped bring this 8-year-old boy home safely.

One of the tips that led police to this area--where the r-v- was-- came from someone who saw the information online.

Ánats playing on the trampolineáenjoying a sunny day on the trampoline is something this spokane family isn't taking for granted.

Not after the weekend they had.

00:04:17"at first, i'm not gonna lie, i didn't have hope," Baylee baylee mulvey says that's because anthony hall broke into mulvey's mother's home--held her at gunpoint--and then took off with their son.

Brenden's family published a plea online--asking everyone to watch out for the r-v hall was driving.

00:02:11"it was everywhere within like an hour," Baylee but it wasn't until sunday afternoon that an off-duty officer and a citizen both spotted the r-v near trent and fancher.

Authorities were able to safely reach the child and then arrested hall for burglary, assault and malicious mischief.

Ácourt natsáin court today--hall's attorney argued his client never threatened the child and there were discrepencies in witness testimony.

28:05:18/attorney"i would be concerned that there are conflicting statements in what the two individuals in this matter describe as a firearm that was used in this matter," The presiding judge handed down a 25-thousand dollar bond-- saying he was concerned for the safety of the public and hall's son.

While the case makes it's way through the courts..brenden is back home.

00:09:)5"i think he's okay, for the most part," Baylee they're focused on helping him just be a kid again--something they may not have been able to do--without help from social media.00:11:30'"if we didn't share those posts, gosh knows if brenden would have been home on sunday," Baylee hall does have a criminal past--including two felonies.a judge ordered a no contact order for both his son and ex- wife.

So if he pays his bond and is released--he isn't supposed to go near them.live in spokane valley.
