Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his mother Heeraben to take her blessings ahead of casting his vote for the Lok Sabha election in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Hiraba Modi, a nonagenarian, lives with her younger son Pankaj Modi at Raisan village located close to the state capital Gandhinagar. In a photo, he is seen with his hands folded and touching the feet of his mother, Heeraben Modi, 98. Before meeting his mother Narendra Modi met people outside his mother’s residence in Gandhinagar. In a video, it can be seen that Narendra Modi feeding his mother some prasad. The prime minister spent around 20 minutes with his mother, who gave him a shawl, sweets and a coconut as a goodwill gesture and her blessings for his victory in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

After meeting his mother, he also briefly interacted with the society residents and allowed children to take selfies with him, before leaving for a school at Ranip to cast his vote. “Urging all those voting in today’s Third Phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to do so in record numbers. Your vote is precious and will shape the direction our nation takes in the years to come,” PM Modi tweeted this morning.
