A drastic change was noticed in the voting pattern for the voters in Porvorim constituency as most of them came after 10.30 am and 12.30 pm. The voting process was going on since morning at a slow pace in almost all the booths located at Goa Housing Board office, Prabhodini High School, Porvorim Sports Club besides others.

By and large, voting was peaceful in Porvorim and in the morning there were no party polling agents seen, so people had to go without verifying their names to the polling booths.

In Chimbel initially the voting progressed at a slow pace but when the day progressed voting picked up and people turned up in large numbers despite the scorching heat.

Many young women were seen standing in the queue along with infants in their arms.

A police officer slapped a driver on suspicion as he was standing on the roadside leading to the Chimbel panchayat where two booths are located as he may try to influence voters. The officer later apologised after a politician intervened in the matter.

Many women voters from Indira Nagar who came to the booth without any identity proof were sent home urging them to be armed with proof of identity.

At Santa Cruz constituency the bastion of Congress party for the last 40 years, voters came out to vote late as a result there were no serpentine queues.
