Pawar lambasts Modi govt in Thane

Thane, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has criticised the Narendra Modi-led government over the rising unemployment in the country, saying that the government does not have any policy for the growth of Industries and Agriculture.

Mr Pawar was here on Monday night, canvassing for NCP-Congress party candidate from Thane Lok Sabha constituency, Anand Paranjpe at Bhayander.He said once a leading state with regards to Industries, Maharashtra was now lagging behind, due to the lethargic attitude of the government.

Industrialists were not investing in the state, while farmers’ suicide was going up.

‘During our regime, we waived off farmers’ Rs 70,000 crore loans. During Modi government, as many as 11,990 ryots committed suicide and in spite of this, Mr Modi does not speak on these issues, especially on farmer suicides, scarcity, water scarcity, price rise and employment.

During Modi’s rule, institutions like RBI, CBI and SC are being attacked and now efforts are being made to attack the Constitution of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mr Pawar alleged, adding that for the sake of Constitution, ‘We will make any kind of sacrifice and protest it.’

He appealed to the voters, to return to power, the thoughts of Gandhi-Nehru and defeat the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, which has communal thinking.
