Share market update: Bank shares mixed; PNB, YES Bank among top gainers
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.23 per cent up at 29,755.40 around 11:00 am.
NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading mixed in Tuesday's morning session.
Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 2.14 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.36 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.89 per cent) and Federal Bank (up 0.68 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
IndusInd Bank (down 0.71 per cent), RBL Bank (down 0.51 per cent), Axis Bank (down 0.41 per cent) and IDFC First Bank (down 0.29 per cent) were trading in the red.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.23 per cent up at 29,755.40 around 11:00 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 14.45 points at 11,608.90 while the BSE Sensex was up 60.86 points at 38,706.04.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, SAIL, Bharti Airtel, Zee Ent., GAIL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bank of Baroda, DLF and RIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
