Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement has decided to field candidates in the byelections to the four assembly seats in the State by highlighting their 14 point agenda.

Its coordinator S. Nallasamy in a press release said that in the election manifesto released by political parties for the current Lok Sabha elections, no party has mentioned about the two-fold increase in the external debt of the country and instead promised, cash dole for farmers and downtrodden people, waiver of farm and education loans. “These parties were keen on coming to power and not addressing the issues in the country”, he said.

Mr. Nallasamy wanted import of petroleum products be stopped completely and instead use ethanol as a fuel for vehicles, remove the ban on toddy shops, reduce the administrative expense that had gone up to 70% from 25% and provide social security to all the people.
