The bust happened over the weekend after jail bosses were tipped off about drugs being sold inside the prison, 7 News reported.

It is understood the guard has been arrested and is being held by the Indonesian Bureau of Narcotics.

If he is convicted he could face the death penalty.

Kerobokan, also known as 'Hotel K', is home to a number of high-profile Australians who have been convicted of drug charges, including members from the notorious Bali Nine who were arrested for trying to smuggle heroin out of the country in 2005.

Schapelle Corby also spent nine years behind bars in the prison after she was convicted for smuggling cannabis when the drugs were found in her bodybag.

International security consultant John McLeod told 7news the video should not be seen as a negative as it showed there was an ongoing push to clean up the prison.

'Chip packets are opened and placed in see-through plastic bags now, shampoo containers emptied particularly in the women’s prison,' he said.

Daily Mail Australia has attempted to contact Indonesian authorities.
