LIVE: Homes evacuated and road closed following huge mountain blaze
Homes have been evacuated and a road is closed due to a huge gorse fire.
Around 20 homes were evacuated by emergency services after a mountain blaze started in the Llechwedd Slate quarry area by Blaenau Ffestiniog overnight.
Wildfires
Firefighters have been battling two major wildfires overnight. One was on land beside Blaenau Ffestiniog and has led to the closure of Church Street.
The other is in Betws-y-Coed.
Crews remain on the scene of both incidents. More to follow.
