RAJKOT: The 94-year-old Balesinh Ghatubha has never missed to vote in any elections in his entire life so far. A resident of Rajkot and neighbour of chief minister Vijay Rupani, Balesinh casts his vote in the same polling booth where Rupani votes.
This time too, Balesinh cast his vote at Anil Gyan Mandir school of Raiya road in the first hour after voting began on Tuesday.

Balesinh is a retired police constable and he was deployed on security duty of first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru when he visited Gujarat. Recalling his experience, Balesinh said, "Nehru saw the water crisis of Surendranagar and Kutch and decided to construct Sardar Sarovar Yojna".

"There were many development works done during Congress rule but BJP is taking credit for them. At that time politicians were real public leaders."

He was also on duty when former prime minister Indira Gandhi visited Gujarat.

He urged the young generation to vote for their future and the country.
