Speaking about the unity of the family in casting votes, Jaysingh Bhosale, the 60 year old son of Parvatibai told DNA, "We have been following Pune's tradition of wada culture where we all stay together in joint family. Including me, my mother has six sons. We six siblings have our wives and children which take the number of family members beyond 30. Out of all the family members, we have 27 eligible voters."

According to Bhosale family members, they have been going together to cast votes during every election. Parvatibai, the eldest voter from the family said, "I will be very happy if other families take inspiration from us and they also come out in big numbers and cast their votes. We need to exercise our right to cast vote to strengthen the democracy."

The Rasta Peth area falls under Pune Lok Sabha constituency where BJP's Girish Bapat and Congress's Mohan Joshi have straight fight. The constituency had recorded low turnout of around 33.4 percent till 3 pm.
