Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have moved to top spot on the Absa Premiership log after a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Chippa United in Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon.
After Mark Mayambela had given Chippa the lead in the 25th minute, Sundowns equalised just before half-time thanks to Hlompho Kekana.
Second half goals by Sibusiso Vilakazi and Gaston Sirino put Sundowns into a comfortable lead until Rhulani Manzini caused a nervy final five minutes for the home side when pulled back a goal for Chippa.
Sundowns held on to record a crucial win and now have 53 points after 28 games.
Orlando Pirates are currently second on 50 points but have a game in hand while Wits are in third, way off the pace with 44 points.
