“The Realme 3 Pro 8GB RAM variant could come with 128GB of internal storage”

Realme 3 Pro has been launched in India to take on the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, offering a better processor and loads of features at an affordable price. The Realme 3 Pro (review) has been announced in two variants for now — 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. However, the company has another variant in the pipeline, one with 8GB of RAM, Realme India head Madhav Sheth told 91mobiles in a conversation at the sidelines of today’s launch event.

Sheth said at the event the upcoming Realme 3 Pro 8GB RAM variant will be launched in July and will be priced around Rs 18,000. While the internal storage of this variant has not been specified, we can expect it to also come with 128GB onboard storage. This variant will, obviously, be positioned above the two options announced today and will be the successor to the Realme 2 Pro 8GB + 128GB option that was launched last year.

While Sheth has mentioned a price point of around Rs 18,000, we can expect it be priced at Rs 18,999. To recall, the Realme 2 Pro 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants were launched at Rs 15,990 and Rs 17,990, respectively. Now, with the Realme 3 Pro 6GB + 128GB option costing Rs 16,999 at launch, it won’t be a surprise if the new variant comes at a Rs 2,000 premium.

As for the specifications, Realme 3 Pro has a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) display with a waterdrop notch and has the ColorOS 6 custom UI based on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC and comes in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB options, with microSD card support up to 256GB. On the camera front, the smartphone has a 16MP + 5MP rear camera setup and a 25MP selfie camera. The rear camera comes with an Ultra HD mode that lets users capture 64-megapixel photos. The smartphone is powered by a 4,045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast-charging support.
