BAREILLY: A man who allegedly posted terror attack messages from his uncle’s Facebook account was arrested in Badaun on Sunday. Police said the man wanted to take revenge on his uncle and hence used his Facebook account to post the terror attack message on the day UP chief minister was about to address a public gathering in Badaun’s Bilsi.
According to police, Arvind Verma of Dehgavan, under the jurisdiction of Jarifanagar police station in Badaun, used his uncle’s Facebook account under the name of Dilip Verma on Facebook. Police said on April 9, Arvind posted the terror attack message and also pro-Pakistan slogans. On April 10, before CM Yogi Adityanath’s public meeting commenced at Bilsi, Arvind again posted a message on a terror attack in the CM’s public meeting and killing of innocent people. On April 11, he posted a message that PM Narendra Modi would be killed in some rally and also uploaded a pro-Pakistan slogan.
Police said Arvind logged in on his uncle’s Facebook account as he knew that his mobile number was the password. They added that Arvind was suffering from mental illness and undergoing treatment in Aligarh.
Taking serious note of the matter, police had already lodged an FIR under IPC sections 505 C (statement conducing to public mischief) and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) and provisions of IT Act.
Ashok Kumar Tripathi, senior superintendent of police, Badaun, said, “During investigation, it came to light that Arvind’s father, Rajkumar, and his uncle, Dilip, had a dispute over some family matter. The families were not on talking terms for the past 10 years. Rajkumar died a few years ago. Arvind wanted to take revenge on his uncle for the death of his father.”
