A new reading project has kicked off and it not only encourages people to read but it also sheds light on another important topic.

Tupelo reads encourages people to never stop reading.

A new project starts today featuring the book ginny moon by benjamin ludwig.

This book is about a 14 year old autistic girl who has been adopted and how she takes on the challengess of life.

Lisa reed, chair woman of the tupelo reads project feels that this project may help people have a better understanding of how autism affects people.

"we really wanted to broaden our base and this book has a lot of opportunity for conversations about special needs, about autism.

" readers of the book are then invited to gather with other readers and join the tupelo reads committee at events in september.

The events will include several activities relating to the book such as guest speakers and discussion parties.

Those events will take place september 1 to september 25 so be sure to come here to the library to grab a copy of ginny moon.
