RANCHI: The body of 40-year-old Anwarul Haque from Badgain area here was exhumed and sent for post-mortem on Sunday after his wife filed a complaint, terming his death as mysterious.
Shama Parveen, wife of the deceased, approached Ranchi SSP Anish Kumar Gupta with a request to investigate her husband’s mysterious death, following which the body was exhumed 10 days after the burial.
Haque was found unconscious under mysterious circumstances on his residential compound on the intervening night of April 10 and 11. He was soon taken to the hospital but the doctors there declared him brought dead.
Parveen told TOI: “I had gone to my in-laws’ house on April 10 as my husband wanted to visit his parents’ house to resolve some financial irregularities in his joint investment which he had with his brothers. As we had reached late, we decided to retire. When I woke up the next morning, I couldn’t find him anywhere. My daughter spotted him unconscious in the backyard of our house near a drainage. We took him to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.”
She added that there are chances that his husband was murdered over the financial matters.
A police team from sadar police station exhumed the body and sent it to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) for autopsy after which the body was again sent for burial.
Speaking to TOI, station in-charge of sadar police station, Venkatesh Kumar, said: “We have registered a case against unidentified persons under Section 302 of IPC. Further investigations will be done based on the findings of the autopsy report.”
