The shoot of Jyothika’s upcoming yet-untitled action comedy with director S Kalyan has been successfully completed. The team had a wrap party to celebrate the occasion.

The film, which had its customary launch in February, also features veteran actor-filmmaker Revathi along with Yogi Babu and Anandraj. Vishal Chandrasekhar has been roped in to compose music. The film, produced by actor Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, has been planned as a summer release.

Last seen playing a hapless housewife chasing her dreams to be independent in Kaatrin Mozhi, Jyothika has managed to complete shooting for two projects in quick succession. Her other project, in which she plays a school teacher, with debutant director S Raj has also been completed recently.

Ever since she made her acting comeback with 36 Vayadhinile after a hiatus of close to eight years, she has been hand-picking women-centric projects. A lot of credit must go to her husband Suriya, who has been supportive of her decision to don the greasepaint again. In a recent interview, asked about the kind of support she gets from her actor-husband Suriya, Jyotika said, “Suriya gives me the freedom to explore and has always stood by me. We always discuss the scripts that come way but he never interferes in my decision. In fact, he encourages me to take up more projects. We have a good understanding of each other as we made our careers together.” Jyothika will soon begin shooting for a yet-untitled Tamil film with her brother-in-law Karthi in the direction of Jeethu Joseph.
