Automotive News has made the following staff changes:
- Leslie J. Allen becomes editor of Shift, the magazine and podcast devoted to mobility and advanced technologies. In that role she will also steer affiliated events and the weekly Mobility Report newsletter. Allen, 57, joined Automotive News in 2006. She helped create Automotive News TV in 2008 and has been managing editor of the TV team for the past six years. She is a former auto editor at the Detroit Free Press and technology reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer.
- Omari Gardner has been named a news editor, guiding coverage of Asian import brands and regulatory issues. Gardner, 43, joined Automotive News in 2013 and has been a copy editor and social media coordinator. He is a former assistant business editor at the Detroit Free Press, where he worked 14 years.
- Laurence Iliff, 55, returns to Automotive News as a reporter in Southern California after leading the editorial team that created Automotive News Mexico. Iliff joined Automotive News in 2016 as Dallas bureau chief. He previously worked for the Wall Street Journal in Mexico City.
