Two drown in Bhadra backwater

Two persons drowned in the Bhadra backwater, near Narasimharajapura, on Saturday. The police released their names as Santhosh (21) and Dummar (24). Santhosh, a native of Nepal, had been living in N.R.Pura for the last 12 years. He was a security guard at a private college. He is survived by wife and two children, one of which was born six days ago.

Dummar, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was Santhosh’s relative and was visiting N.R. Pura. He is survived by wife and a child. The N.R. Pura police said that four persons had been to the Bhadra backwater on Saturday. Unaware of the depth, Santhosh and Dummar attempted to walk to reach the other end and drowned.

The bodies were recovered on Sunday. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
