MEERUT: A 28-year-old Gurugram-based embryologist and research scholar has alleged gangrape by four Baghpat-based youths one of whom fostered friendship with her on Facebook.
The victim claimed that she was abducted on gunpoint from a shopping mall in Gurugram and taken to a shooting range in Baraut in Uttar Pradesh where she was forced to dance in 'semi-nude' state. She was later taken to Binauli region of Baghpat at the house of one of the accused where they took runs in gangraping her.
The survivor approached Baghpat police on Sunday evening to file an FIR against Vipin Tomar, Ashish Balyan, Taranjit and Amit Munjal.
Police have arrested Vipin and Ashish while the rest are absconding. The woman was sent for medical examination. According to police sources, the victim accepted friendship request on Facebook four years ago from Vipin, a resident of Arifpur Kheri village under Binauli police station in Baghpat.
Gradually they became friends and on Vipin’s request she decided to meet him at Pacific Mall in Gurugram on April 17 from where Vipin allegedly abducted her with the help of his three other friends and brought her to Baraut-based shooting range.
The woman, in her statement, has alleged that first she was forced to dance in semi-nude state and was later taken to Vipin’s home where she was first forced to drink "some intoxicated drink" and later gangraped by the four.
According to the FIR, the incident occurred on April 17 afternoon after which she had to “face physical torture for full night only to be released the following day after which she was driven back to Pacific Mall to be abandoned with a demand of Rs 30 lakhs.”
On Sunday evening, the woman mustered courage, reached Binauli police station to file police complaint. According to Additional SP, Ranvijay Singh, “FIR has been filed against the four under IPC sections 376D (Gangrape), 363 (Kidnapping), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). We have nabbed main accused Vipin Tomar and his accomplice Ashish and hunt is on for the rest. Medical examination of the woman has been conducted but it could not confirm rape so observations have been sent to forensic lab for further investigation. Report will arrive in a couple of days.”
