‘On what grounds reviews by CM are being faulted?’

A.P. State Planning Board Vice-Chairman C. Kutumba Rao said the Union Cabinet met on April 15 in an apparent violation of the Model Code of Conduct and wondered on what grounds then were the seasonal reviews by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu faulted.

Addressing media persons here on Monday, Mr. Kutumba Rao said he would leave the comments being made by YSR Congress Party leaders C. Ramachandraiah, Botcha Satyanarayana and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy to their wisdom and questioned whether some retired IAS officers were not responsible for scandals like the one related to the proposed manufacturing plant of the Volkswagen Group.

He also pointed out that the foundation for Amaravati was laid during I.Y.R. Krishna Rao’s stint as Chief Secretary and A.P. Rythu Sadhikara Samstha was established when Ajeya Kallam was at the helm of affairs.

‘Motivated campaign’

Mr. Ramnarayana Reddy commented on the State’s financial position without having a basic understanding of the subject, Mr. Kutumba Rao said, adding that he was “spreading misinformation” much like his party MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy.

He pegged the State’s total debt in June 2014 at approximately ₹1,66,523 crore and it went up to about ₹1,68,790 crore.
