MNC employee files blackmail case against colleague
Jaipur: A woman working in a multinational company (MNC) in Jaipur has registered a case against her co-worker for allegedly blackmailing her.

According to the complainant, the co-worker threatened to upload her photographs on social media if she did not give him money.


Jawahar Circle SHO Devendra said, “Few years back, the complainant and the accused were in a relationship during which they clicked a few photographs. Now, the complainant is married to someone and according to her, the accused threatened that he will make fake accounts in her name on social media where he will upload the photographs. He also threatened to show them to her husband.” According to the complainant, she also gave the accused Rs 5 lakh previously following his alleged blackmail threat and when he asked for more money, she registered a case against him. “They both are in their mid-20s and have known each other for some years. We are investigating the matter to ascertain what transpired between the two. We have registered a case of extortion as well as under IT Act for sending obscene photographs,” added the SHO.


The case has been registered under various IPC sections as well as under Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000 which states that making, transmitting and distribution of cyber pornography is an offence.
