CHENNAI: Chennaiities, who were prepared to face yet another hot afternoon on Monday, were surprised when the skies became overcast. It even drizzled in a few places in the city.
Districts like Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, the Nilgiris, Kanyakumari and Salem received thundershowers.
In Chennai, the temperature dropped to 33 degree Celsius in the afternoon. For the next 48 hours, the sky condition in the city is likely to be partly cloudy. Minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be 36 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
“It may get cloudy and convective clouds may bring some drizzle. But chances of rain are quite less,” an India Meteorological Department official said.
