HYDERABAD: A four-year-old girl who fell in a small manhole at Gowliguda area on Sunday morning was rescued within 15 minutes by a fire department official. The manhole was around 12 feet deep, said the official.

The incident occurred at around 10am when Divya (4) along with her elder sister and two other friends were walking and suddenly fell into the manhole .

"We put a ladder inside a nearby manhole which was hardly 10 meters away. We feared that the girl might have swept away or drowned in the Nala because of recent rain. But we managed to rescue her," said station fire officer, Gowliguda, Raj Kumar.

The fire constable, Kranthi Kumar, went inside the manhole to save the girl.

"The girl was in shock after the rescue and was given proper first aid. "She sustained no injury, but was traumatized," he said.
