The husband of a mother-of-two who was found dead only metres from her sleeping children has been charged with her alleged murder.
Syeda Nirupama Hossain's body was found by a concerned friend at about 4am on Sunday morning in the garage of her Minto home.
The 33-year-old mother had allegedly been stabbed to death.
Her husband, 49-year-old Altaf Hossain, was taken into police custody at the scene, 7News reported.
He was questioned using an interpreter at Campbelltown Police Station and later taken to Fairfield Hospital for treatment on an injured hand.
On his release from hospital, Mr Hossain was returned to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with murder.
He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Monday.
Mrs Hossain's distraught family were tasked with relaying the message of her death to her parents, who still live in Bangladesh.
The couple met overseas after Mr Hossain returned home from living in Australia to search for a wife.

They were married, and she followed her husband back to Australia, where they have lived for more than a decade.
The pair have two children, aged six and 10.
Police found the pair asleep and unharmed in their beds, and comforted them while waiting for family to arrive. They are now in the custody of protective services.
Afrina Chowdhury, Mrs Hossain's cousin, told media the current concern is the well-being of those children.
'At the moment we're worried about the kids,' she said.
'My husband told her many times to complain to the police, but she never complained,' Ms Chowdhury told 9News.
Friends and neighbours also expressed their sorrow at hearing of her death, describing Mrs Hossain as 'a lovely woman.'
'She was a good mother,' neighbour Shamsul Huda said, while others spoke of the huge loss to the community.

Campbelltown Police Commander Supt Wayne Benson described the ordeal as 'tragic'.
'It is tragic, absolutely tragic,' he said.
'My heart goes out to the children and family involved.'
Neighbours said Mrs Hossain was a devout Muslim who prayed regularly.
The couple made a living selling homemade Bangladeshi sweets to shops after Mr Hossain was injured on the job and couldn't work.
