An election survey carried out by Edupress has hinted that the battle for Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency is heading for a photo finish.

The photo finish has been predicted as the 4.09% undecided voters have a key role in the election that is witnessing tough fight between Shashi Tharoor of the Congress, C. Divakaran of the CPI, and Kummanam Rajasekharan of the BJP.

The inference is based on the two-stage surveys carried out on April 1 and 17 covering 2,588 voters, according to psephologist and Chairman of Edupress, S. George Kutty.

The survey has found that Mr. Tharoor will get 32.77 per cent votes, Mr. Divakaran 31.06 per cent and Mr. Rajasekharan 30.99 per cent votes.

The difference in votes between the first and second candidates is 1.71 and 1.78 is the difference between the first and third candidate. Considering this and the undecided votes, the constituency is heading for a photo finish.
