Today in History: Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain died on April 21

Samuel Langhorne Clemens was born on November 30, 1835, in the tiny village of Florida. Samuel L. Clemens wrote under the pen name Mark Twain, went on to author several novels, including two major classics of American literature: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain was also a riverboat pilot, journalist, lecturer, entrepreneur and inventor. Hannibal inspired several of Mark Twain's fictional locales, including "St. Petersburg" in Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. In February 1870, Mark Twain got hitched with 24-year-old Olivia (Livy) Langdon. Mark Twain died on April 21, 1910, at the age of 74.
