Collins Street reopened after hunt for 'crane climbers'

Police briefly shut down a major city street as they investigated reports of two people climbing a crane on Sunday morning.

Police and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade attended the scene, however, they were unable to locate the pair.

Their investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Collins Street was closed to traffic just after 7am on Sunday, reopening a short time after.

All trams were suspended between Exhibition and Russell streets until around 9.30am.
