Buoyed by the immense response of applicants to its call for admissions, the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society conducted an entrance test for 14,640 seats in its 204 schools.
According to TMREIS officials, for these 14,640 seats for Class V students, as many as 40,483 applications were received. The TMREIS conducted an entrance test for 27,093 applicants on Saturday. The results are expected to be announced soon.
Officials said that TMREIS will also conduct entrance tests on Monday for students of classes VI, VII and VIII.
The TMREIS schools earmark 25% of the seats for non-minority communities. “The schools in Asif Nagar, Bahadurpura and Serilingampally are packed with students and the response there is overwhelming and encouraging,” Academic Head of TMREIS Lateef Atear said.
Meanwhile, students of TMREIS’s 12 intermediate colleges recorded a pass percentage of 71.30% for junior intermediate and 91.4% for senior intermediate. Last year, it was 71.65% for junior intermediate, and 70.19 for senior intermediate.
