Webcasting facility works without glitches in Udupi

Udupi district recorded 100% success in ensuring that the webcasting facility installed in all 54 polling booths worked smoothly during the Lok Sabha elections to Udupi-Chikkamagaluru parliamentary constituency on April 18.

An official release issued here on Saturday said that all the cameras installed for webcasting at the polling booths worked without any glitches.

The webcasting facility was also provided in 54 sensitive polling booths in the district.

This was done so that immediate action could be taken if there was any untoward incident there.

Due to the facility, all the polling activity in these 54 booths were being monitored at the Control Room in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

The booths for the webcasting facility were identified on April 7 as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati and Vidya Kumari, Additional Deputy Commissioner. They had also given instructions for the smooth functioning of this facility.

Web cameras are being installed in 16 sensitive polling booths in Byndoor Assembly segment in Udupi district coming under Shivamogga parliamentary constituency, which will go to the polls on April 23.
