Bhopal: Pragya’s hit wicket bothers BJP

The purpose behind Bharatiya Janata Party giving ticket to Sadhvi Pragya Thakur to put up Hindutva issue seems to be failing. Pragya’s statement on martyr Hemant Karkare is bothering BJP. The statement has attracted the opposition of Hindu commu nity too and its may also impact voters in Maharashtra.

Pragya’s statement has attracted ire of Maharashtrian community, known to be inclined towards BJP. BJP national vice president Prabha t Jha, after the developments post-statement, reached Pragya’s place on Saturday and advised her. Jha told Pragya not to drag personal matters into politics. Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha too had a discussion with Pragya on elections in the evening.

BJP fear losing votes of youths after Pragya’s statement on martyr Karkare. The local leaders of BJP had a meeting on damage control exercise. The differences between Pragya and local leaders have come up after the controversial statement. The local leaders have told state leadership that such statements would damage party’s prospects.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has taken responsibility for victory from Bhopal seat but Pragya’s statement on Karkare has lead to RSS distancing itself from the blunder. No RSS leader has given his reaction in this matter in the state. The local leaders, angry over giving ticket  to Pragya, are expressing their opposition within the party. BJP wanted to grill Congress through Pragya on the issue of Hindu terror. Her statement on Karkare has come as a shocker to BJP, who wanted to target Congress on the issues of national security and terrorism.

A contemplation on how to keep Pragya silent and continue election campaigning is going on. Sources said Pragya is also getting annoyed over BJP putting pressure on her. Her confidants say that she is discussing on this matter with RSS leaders at national-level.

‘BJP with Kasab’Cong in attack
Congress is in attacking mode despite Pragya withdrawing her statement on martyr Karkare. Congress has launched a campaign on social media titled BJP with Kasab conveying that Pragya’s statement proves that BJP was supporting the killers of Hemant Karkare. Congress leaders are leading scathing attacks on the campaign on national security launched by the BJP leaders across the country.
