Colourful bangles to brighten up voting pitch in Firozabad
Kanpur: District administration of Firozabad is going to engage people in the electoral process by making voter participation truly inclusive on April 23, when Firozabad, the ‘City of Bangles’ goes to poll.

District magistrate and election officer Selva Kumari J and a team of SVEEP are leaving no stone unturned to make elections inclusive with the help of employees and volunteers distributing specially designed colourful bangles with a reminder to vote, particularly to the first time voters.

Under supervision of DM Selva Kumari J and and chief development officer Neha Jain, multiple outreach measures are planned under SVEEP to promote voting. “We have designed colourful bangles which were distributed in order to increase voting percentage. Also, we have launched ‘Gaon Gaon Kaanchi’-- an initiative under which a ‘Kaanchi’ woman will welcome voters on each booth. Kaanchi is logo of Firozabad”, said BDO, Firozabad, Prabhat Mishra.

While stickers, caps, T-shirts with voting messages were distributed, awareness messages through tattoo painting and ‘mehndi’ were also spread, Mishra added. tnn
