Vadodara: An offence was registered against a primary teacher of Chanchopa village school in Panchmahal after he allegedly beat up a student. The incident took place on April 18, but the FIR was registered on Saturday evening after the parents approached Godhra taluka police station.
According to the woman, her son came home crying from school on April 18 and when asked he revealed that his teacher Gulab Bariya got angry at him for not being able to answer a question and kicked him. The 12-year-old boy said he then fell down, but Bariya continued to thrash him as a result of which he lost a tooth and was bleeding. The boy was taken to a private clinic at his village for treatment.
The parents along with other villagers then went to meet Bariya at the school on Saturday where they got into argument with Bariya and ended up in a scuffle. The boy’s mother told police that Bariya had even hit her and her husband. Bariya too was roughed up by the villagers and had to taken to the civil hospital in Godhra.
Later, the boy’s parents approached the police. However, Bariya has not filed any cross complaint. The district primary education officer of Panchmahal has asked the taluka primary education officer to conduct an inquiry.tnn
