The Static Surveillance Squad of the Election Commission on Saturday seized unaccounted cash of ₹16.65 lakh from Kozhikode South. The money was handed over to the appeal committee at the District Collectorate. So far, the squads have seized ₹78.11 lakh from the district in connection with the Lok Sabha polls.

Expenditure

Meanwhile, the district election office will examine the poll expenditure of candidates of Kozhikode and Vadakara constituencies on Monday. The examination under the supervision of election observers will be held at the planning department auditorium at the Civil Station. This is the third round of examinations of poll expenditure.
