AHMEDABAD: Four people who had stolen Rs 1.37 lakh from the bank account of Dr Shalini Pandian, - the wife of Surat range inspector general of police Rajkumar Pandian - were on Saturday arrested by Ahmedabad cyber crime sleuths from Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

Deputy commissioner of police Rajdeepsinh Jhala said those arrested are Shraddhanand Vivekanand, 36, who holds a Master of Arts degree; Vikrant Sharma, 24, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree; Naman Sharma, 23, who has studied up to class 12; and Vivek Puchal, who holds a BTech degree.

Dr Shalini Pandian, a resident of Sharnam-10 in Prahladnagar, had recently filed an online complaint against a salon she had visited on March 27. She had wanted a refund because she had been unhappy with the service. In the FIR, she stated that she had searched online for the complaint form of the salon and found a link. Dr Pandian, who works as a professor at a private university, fell into the trap laid by the cyber criminals when she clicked on the page they had set up.
