JAIPUR: Returning officer of Jaipur Jagroop Singh Yadav on Saturday issued a notice to sitting MP and BJP candidate Ramcharan Bohra for suspected paid news in a hindi newspaper. "A news item was published in one of the hindi newspapers, Daily News, couple of days back and it appears to be a paid news. The item looked like an advertisement material. We have asked him to explain as to why the item should not be treated as a paid news," said Yadav.

"Hence, we have issued a notice to him stating that the article seems to be a paid news and have been asked to reply within 48 hours," he added.

Meanwhile, Congress candidate Krishna Poonia has replied to the notice on paid news and has denied the charges.

Notices have been issued to BJP, Congress and BTP candidates in Banswara for not submitting their election expenditure details to the district election officer. Kanakmal Katara (BJP), Tarachand Bhagora (Cong) and Kantilal Roat (BTP) are the candidates. A school teacher Sotanram has been suspended in Jaisalmer by the DEO for attending a Congress public meeting.

Meanwhile, the BJP on Saturday complained to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anand Kumar against deputy commissioner of Civil Lines zone and other poll officials for forcibly removing the flags of the party from the houses and business establishment in the Civil Lines area. The party also urged the CEO to take appropriate action against the officials and also allow people to use the flags and stickers of the party of their choice.
