Patil edges out Pranjal to move into round two

Pune: Rishita Patil edged out Preksha Pranjal 6-5 (3) to move into the second round of the girls Under-12 event at the first leg of the PMDTA-KPIT Junior Champion Series Tournament which commenced at the Maharashtriya Mandal Lawn Tennis Academy Tennis Courts, Mukundnagar on Saturday.

In another matches Mrunal Shelke beat Sara Handalgaonkar 6-2 while Swara Kolhe defeated Arya Borade 6-0 to win ease. Meanwhile Dhruvi Adyanthaya beat Aarna Lodha with the score reading 6-2.
In the boys action, Avanish Gavali beat Mihir Kelkar 6-3 to enter the second round. Also registering a win was Raj Parda who beat Arav Gupta with the score reading 6-5 (1).

Later, Arjun Pardeshi beat Kapil Gadhiyar 6-1 while Atharva Joshi got past Tej Oak as the final score read 6-4. In other action, Aniket Roy beat Shubhankar Sinha 6-1 while Saksham Bhansali beat Ninad Patil with the same scoreline.
