A nephew of Rajya Sabha member of Telugu Desam C.M. Ramesh, aged 17 years, who did not pass in Maths subject in Intermediate second year exams, leaped to death from the sixth floor of the apartment complex where he resided at Srinagar Colony. He jumped off hours after the results were announced on Thursday evening and succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Friday night. However, the incident came to light on Saturday.

This is the fourth case of students committing suicide in the city due to failure in Intermediate exams. The boy was the son of Mr. Ramesh’s sister.

Banjara Hills police inspector N Kalinga Rao said that the student was a student of Narayana College and stayed with his parents in Srinagar Colony. “Failure in Intermediate examination is reason for taking the step,” he added.
