Gujarat’s Tribal Development Minister Ganpat Vasava triggered a controversy by referring to Congress president Rahul Gandhi as a “puppy” and accusing him of showing loyalty to Pakistan and China, whoever “feeds him a roti”.
“Our Narendrabhai is like a lion. Whenever he stands, he looks like a Gir lion is standing. But whenever Rahul Gandhi stands, he looks like a puppy wagging its tail. If Pakistan offers a roti, he will go there or if China offers him something, it [the ‘puppy’] will switch to China,” the Minister said in Dediapapa, where he was campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls on Saturday.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, when asked to respond, in Rajkot, said, “In the election, in the heated environment, one should show restraint and not use words to make personal allegations.”
