Medical students urged to participate in public health activities

Vasco: Dean of Goa Medical College (GMC) Dr Shivanand Bandekar urged the students community and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa State Medical Student’s Network (MSN) Council to take active participation in all activities that signify the importance of public health. 

Dr Bandekar was speaking as the chief guest at the installation ceremony of IMA Goa State Medical Student’s Network- 2019 that was held recently at the auditorium of Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.

On the occasion, IMA Goa State president Dr Anil Mehndiratta, secretary Dr Rajesh Patil, treasurer Dr Deepak Kuvelkar, Dr Gladstone D’Costa, Dr Savio Rodrigues, Dr Sumant Prabhudessai besides Dr Parag Sawant, Dr P V Rataboli, Dr Shradha Patil, Dr F P Noronha, Dr Mervin Correia, Dr Panderinath Audi, Dr Shubangi Borkar, Dr Neelam Madhale and others were present.

The programme began with a welcome song by the MBBS 6th semester IMA-MSN students. It was followed by IMA prayer and flag salutation.

The gathering was welcomed by MSN IMA Goa State coordinator Dr Yogeeta Walke. The chief guest Dr Bandekar highlighted the importance of IMA-MSN, while IMA Goa State president Dr Mehndiratta highlighted the importance of having a cordial doctor- doctor relationship.

IMA-MSN executive committee was installed at the hands of IMA Goa State president Dr Mehndiratta which includes, Kenneth Xavier Da Silva  (president), Abhishek Bhardwaj and Rochelle Fernandes (vice-presidents), Sidharth Desai  (secretary), Abhijeet Phadte (treasurer), Ezekhil Balaji (joint treasurer) and Snehankita Shet (state representative).
