Three involved in looting valuables from locals held

JAIPUR: Police arrested three persons for alleged cases of snatching valuables from locals. The three allegedly carried out 15 such snatching of valuables worth Rs 70,000. All three accused are from Makrana in Nagaur district and have prior cases of similar criminal intent against them in Jaipur as well.

The three arrested have been identified as Amir Bhati (20), Mohammad Akbar Ali (42) and Yakub Bhati (33). “Due to the increasing cases of snatching of valuables occurring in the city, a team was constituted to catch those behind these crimes. After investigation these three were arrested,” said a police official.The team of crime branch officials comprised Ramniwas, Abhimanyu Kumar, Avinash Kumar and others.


The trio also allegedly confessed to carrying out crimes in areas like Shipra Path, Chitrakoot, Chaksu, Moti Doongri, Jawahar Circle and many other locations in Jaipur. According to officials, these three were also following the same modus operandi in other districts of Rajasthan.


“A sum of Rs 71,000 was also found on the accused and we are confident that apart from the cases that we are aware of, many more will come to light during further interrogation. All of them have cases of murder, loot, dacoity and other serious criminal cases registered against them,” added an official.


A case under IPC section 392 (robbery) has been registered against all three arrested. The officials claimed that the three carried out more than 15 such snatchings in the last few days. Two weeks back also the city police had arrested a gang of four who were allegedly behind the multiple incidents of chain-snatching in the state capital.
