Youth on cycle dies after bus hits him in Jaipur

Picture used for representational purpose onlyJAIPUR: A 22-year-old youth was mowed down by a private bus at Bais Godam circle on Sunday morning. The youth was on his bicycle when the bus hit him from behind. He suffered severe injuries and later succumbed. The police seized the bus, but the driver fled from the accident site.
The youth, identified as Manish Kataria, met with the accident around 6am on Sunday. Veer Singh of Accident Police Station, Jaipur south who was part of the investigating team said, “Manish was cycling from his house to his uncle’s when the bus hit him. He was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. We seized the vehicle, but the driver ran away from the spot.” The body was handed over to the victim’s family after post-mortem.
A police official added, “It was a private bus and we will look at the registration to trace the driver through the owner. Since it was early morning, it is unlikely that there was much traffic. The bus hitting the cyclist appears to be a case of rash driving on the part of the bus driver but obviously all possible angles will have to be investigated before we come to any conclusion. We will arrest the driver soon.”
A case has been registered under various IPC sections including 304 A (causing death by negligence) against the bus driver.
